RICHMOND, Ind. — A 43-year-old Richmond man is facing multiple child pornography charges after Indiana State Police said it received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Jeremy C. Shain was arrested after a search warrant was served Tuesday morning at an apartment in the 1800 block of South 13th Street.
Shain was charged with child exploitation and five counts of possession of child pornography, state police said in a news release. Police said the child exploitation charge stems from Shain possessing a pornographic image of a child under the age of 12.
Online court records Tuesday afternoon did not show that formal charges have been filed.
The Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children unit led the investigation. Police began looking into Shain after the tip was received in October.
On Tuesday afternoon, Shain was listed online as being in the Wayne County jail.
