ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.--A state trooper was shot at his home Thursday night in St. Joseph County and his son has been arrested.
State Police say trooper Matt Makowski was found shot inside his home on Conover Drive in Granger.
After talking to people and gathering evidence, officers decIded to arrest Makowski’s son on a preliminary charge of attempted murder.
Police say the gunshot wound on Makowski is on the lower part of his body. He is in semi-stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at a hospital and has had surgery.
The case has been turned over to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
