Wednesday’s Michael Cohen hearing before the House Oversight and Reform Committee kicked off with a bang, as lawmakers argued over whether President Trump’s former personal lawyer’s testimony should be postponed.

After several heated discussions and a committee vote to proceed, Cohen delivered an opening statement in which he referred to President Trump as a “con man” and said he regretted his “blind loyalty” to him over the past decade.

“Mr. Trump called me a ‘rat’ for choosing to tell the truth, much like a mobster would do when one of his men decides to cooperate with the government,” Cohen said Wednesday, adding that Trump has also “attacked” him on Twitter.

Awe, poor “Mikey the victim.” Trump hurt his feelings.

Cohen agreed to take a plea deal to avoid a longer prison sentence, pleading guilty to charges of tax evasion, making false statements to a financial institution, willfully causing an unlawful corporate contribution and making an excessive campaign contribution.
