Listen Live

INDIANAPOLIS – Do you live on Indy’s southeast side? If you do, Indy Metro Police want to hear your thoughts on a possible officer-worn body camera program.

IMPD is looking into equipping some or all of its officers with body cameras. But, before a final decision is made, IMPD wants feedback on body cameras from the people who live in Indy.

The department’s first “community listening session” is set for  6 p.m. on Monday, March 4, at the Southeast Community Services Center on Shelby Street.

IMPD wants to know how you expect them to use body cameras, what you think the related policies should entail, and whether you think interactions between officers and the public will change if body cameras are implemented.

IMPD and IUPUI’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs are also collecting feedback using an online survey.
