RUSH COUNTY, Ind. — A convicted child molester from Rush County is on the run.
Jefferson Griffin, Jr., walked out of the courthouse Thursday during jury deliberations and never came back, says the Rush County Sheriff’s Office.
Court proceedings continued without Griffin. The jury convicted him of the following crimes:
- Child molestation
- Sexual misconduct with a minor
- Battery on a person less than 16 years old
Griffin was also found to be a habitual offender based on his previous convictions for voluntary manslaughter and sexual misconduct with a minor.
