INDIANAPOLIS — One person is in critical condition after a shooting stemming from a domestic dispute, police say.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just after 11:30 p.m. on March, 22, officers responded to the 2700 block of Caroline Avenue for a report of shots fired.
After arriving on scene, officers learned that the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute between a man and a woman which began as an argument but then turned into a physical altercation.
Police say that at some point during the fight, the male involved displayed a handgun, pointing it at the woman. She then also pulled out a handgun and fearing for her life fired, striking the man, according to IMPD.
The man then obtained a ride to IU Health Methodist Hospital where he is in critical condition.
