INDIANAPOLIS — An officer was injured in a crash on the city’s west side Saturday morning, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Police say an officer was headed to an emergency with the vehicle’s lights on in the 400 block of North Tibbs Avenue at approximately 4:15 a.m.

The officer was then forced to move in order to avoid hitting another vehicle, which caused him to strike a utility pole, IMPD says.

The officer, who suffered a minor injury, was transported to a hospital for treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery.
