A bride-to-be is receiving flack and shame from overly-militant vegans and vegetarians who were outraged at her refusal to offer a ‘cruelty-free’ option to her vegan wedding guests, nor provide for their ‘special food accommodations’.

According to an article in the Daily Mail, the anonymous bride said two friends of the groom had sent RSVPs to the reception with their dietary requirements written all over the invites.

From Daily Mail:

‘Nowhere on the RSVP does it ask what guests want to eat at the reception. Nowhere,’ the bride wrote, adding that the response ‘irked’ her from the start.

‘We are not making special food accommodations. If our parents needed something, sure. Them? No,’ she wrote.

The bride said she and her husband-to-be had organized tacos for guests and that they wouldn’t be adjusting their plans to cater for ‘vegan plates’.

‘What are they going to eat? The lettuce and beans? I feel like my fiancé should speak to her in advance to let her know what we are having for dinner,’ she said.

‘They can bring their own food or order from the restaurant property (but it’s BBQ lol) at their own cost.’

The bride said she was looking for suggestions as to how to best address the situation and whether they should simply focus on their day and ignore the demand.
