Linda Yaccarino has announced her resignation as CEO of X, stepping down after two years under Elon Musk’s social media platform.

Her departure follows recent controversy involving X’s Grok chatbot, which drew backlash for sharing antisemitic content. While it’s unclear if the incident is tied to her decision, Yaccarino’s exit comes shortly after Musk transferred ownership of X to his AI company, xAI — a move that raised questions about her role moving forward.

In her farewell post on the platform, Yaccarino expressed gratitude to Musk for trusting her to “protect free speech” and help reshape X

“Now, the best is yet to come as X enters a new chapter with @xai,” she said in the post. “I’ll be cheering you all on as you continue to change the world.”

Musk replied to Yaccarino’s post, saying, “Thank you for your contributions.”
