ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – A man is under arrest for the murder of a Zionsville jogger.

The Zionsville Police Department said that 23-year-old James Earl Hughes of Zionsville was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder.

Hughes is accused of shooting and killing Samuel T. Bennett, 23, of Zionsville. Bennett’s body was found near the Big-4 Rail Trail April 28 near Zionsville Town Hall.

Hughes was transported to the Boone County Jail and is being held without bail.

ZPD says evidence collected at the scene and using search warrants led them to Hughes.

Police added that they particularly would like to speak with anyone who was on the Big-4 Rail Trail between 5 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Sunday, April 28.
