A coffee chain in Southern California is selling the world’s most expensive coffee.

Klatch Coffee Roasters, which has shops from Los Angeles to San Francisco (in case you have a hankering for the stuff), is currently selling a Elita Geisha coffee at $75 a cup or $800 per pound.

Why so expensive? According to Daily Mail, the shop is the only one in all of the U.S. to sell Elita Geisha coffee, and even they only have a limited quantity. In fact, there are only 80 cups of the beverage available to Klatch Coffee Roasters customers. It’s California, however, so rest assured that Klatch baristas will sell all 80 cups within the week.

Nigel:

“I already feel like I’m paying out the wazoo for my K-cups in the Keurig. You pay for the convenience with that. I’m not sure what the justification is for this stuff other than I guess you can create a market for anything if you make it seem exclusive enough.”

Hammer:

“Yeah, but that convenience is golden if you’re running late in the morning, the kids are acting up, everything is going to hell in a hand basket, and you just want a quick cup of coffee.”
