INDIANAPOLIS — The one-year-old found dead in a hot car on Saturday has been identified as Maria Guadalupe Sanchez, according to Marion County Coroner’s Office.

Sgt. Jim Gillespie, spokesperson for Indy Metro Police, said baby Maria was rushed to Riley Children’s Health, but could not be saved. The child was found in the backseat of an SUV about 4:45 p.m.. at an AutoZone at 3863 East Washington St.

WISH TV reports detectives questioned the mother. No charges have been filed.

The cause of Maria’s death is pending. Autopsy results are expected in about eight weeks.
