WASHINGTON, D.C. — Vice-President Mike Pence says the Trump Administration supports banning abortions.
Pence said in D.C he hopes “to see the sanctity of life restored to the center of American law.”
This is why he says the White House has been appointing “conservative judges” to courts at every level. However, Pence did not directly say if he supports the new Alabama law that bans abortions entirely in the state, even in cases of rape and incest.
Lawmakers there say they had expected a lawsuit to be filed by those against it and they hope it leads to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
Pence was in Florida yesterday speaking to blue collar workers about the USMCA Agreement between the US, Canada, and Mexico. He said it’s deals like these that are helping the country grow.
“In our first year in office, President Trump promised the American people that we going to ‘hire and grow’,” Pence said. “We were going to raise wages for American workers and rebuild cities and towns.”
The new trade deal is expected to improve the economies of all three North American countries, according to the White House. This week President Trump lifted tariffs on Canadian and Mexican steel and aluminum. In return, the two countries lifted their own tariffs on U.S. goods.
Indiana Sen. Todd Young said in an emailed statement Monday the news will “provide much needed relief to Indiana’s manufacturers and farmers.”
