WASHINGTON — Vice President Mike Pence on Monday honored the men and women who have fallen in battle on Memorial Day.

Pence laid the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Arlington National Cemetery.

He addressed the crowd during a ceremony, saying Memorial Day is the time when everyone across America pauses to remember those who served our nation and never made it home.

The vice president spoke on behalf of President Trump, saying his heart is with military families across the nation.

Pence said we can never repay the debt of gratitude we owe to the men and women that preserve our freedom.
