GREENWOOD, Ind. — A Beech Grove man has been charged in Johnson County for robbing another man and assaulting a woman on the 4th of July.

The Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office says Brandon Saloane, 27, faces charges of Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, and Battery Resulting in Moderate Bodily Injury.

Greenwood Police say Saloane went to the Polo Run Apartment Complex last Thursday to buy marijuana from a man. After receiving some of the weed, Saloane went to the bathroom, came back, pulled out a gun, and demanded money and more marijuana. The man gave him about $2,000 in cash, and a quarter pound of marijuana.

As Saloane was collecting the money, he told the man’s girlfriend, who was in a bed, to get up. When she resisted, Saloane hit her in the face, fired the gun into the ceiling, and ran away. The woman later had to receive six stitches.

The next day, a woman went to the Beech Grove Police Department to report that a friend, Saloane, had stolen her gun and committed a robbery in Greenwood.

Police were able to find Saloane in Beech Grove, and arrest him.

He could face up to 16 years in prison.
