WASHINGTON — Embattled Labor Secretary Alex Acosta is out. Acosta and President Trump announced his resignation this morning.
The resignation comes amid critcism over Acosta’s role in a controversial plea deal for sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 2008. Acosta was a U.S. attorney in Florida at the time.
Epstein is facing new federal charges of sex trafficking in a case that has been filed in New York.
Acosta will step down in a week.
