Rep. Rashida Tlaib has determined that a $15 per hour minimum wage is wholly and completely inappropriate in our current American economy. Therefore, she has withdrawn her support from the “Fight for 15” movement and redirected her focus to bullying job creators into paying out $20 per hour.
Now, let me tell you something before you go off the rails and start calling Rep. Tlaib’s ideas on the federal minimum wage “economically ignorant” and “political buffoonery of the highest order”: You’re absolutely correct in your assessment. Carry on at once.
Rep. Tlaib proudly demonstrated her economic illiteracy at an event for One Fair Wage, a nonprofit organization that advocates for higher minimum wages for tipped employees.
“Big fights like this one, $15—by the way, when we started it, it should’ve been $15. Now I think it should be $20. Make sure America Rising hears that.” Tlaib said. “It should be $20 an hour—$18-20 an hour, because everything all the costs—they say all this is going to raise the costs. I can tell you this: Milk has gone up. Eggs has gone up. Everything has gone up, the cost of things has gone up. The cost of food has gone up. The cost of a lot of things that we need has gone up already.”
“Eggs ‘has’ gone up,” huh? Well then, by all means let’s universally raise hourly workers’ pay across the country, putting more money into the economy, creating a higher demand for goods and services, fuelling more belly-aching from Rashida Tlaib about how “eggs has gone up,” creating an all-new fight to raise the minimum wage to $40 per hour…

$20 per hour? Why stop there? Personal rainbows and puppies for everyone – except for white Republicans. They can buy their own puppies, and they don’t like rainbows anyway. I’ve heard their views on the LGBTQ+whatever community. Bunch of homophobes, I tell ya (but Democrats will still take their dirty, homophobe money).
