INDIANAPOLIS — A fountain outside the Indiana Statehouse that has been broken since 2017 is finally being fixed.

The fountain — that includes water jets, multi-colored lighting, and a cascading fountain — was the centerpiece of the Statehouse plaza project in 2016 to mark Indiana’s bicentennial.

However, it broke in the winter of 2017.

Indiana Department of Administration commissioner Lesley Crane told The (Fort Wayne) Journal Gazette it took time to find someone to repair the control panel.

Crane says it will cost $46,000 to fix. A separate company will reinstall it, and the fountain will be operational by the middle of August.
