It’s not gun confiscation; it’s a MANDATORY buyback!

So says an increasingly desperate Beto O’Rourke who pledged to forcibly take law-abiding Americans “assault weapons” in the highly unlikely event that he is elected president.

O’Rourke was asked Saturday in Charlottesville, Virginia, how he would address the fears of some Americans that the government would take away their assault weapons. O’Rourke, who has all the popularity and appeal of a juicy fart at a funeral per the latest polls, attempted to assuage those “fears” by fully validating them.

“I want to be really clear that that’s exactly what we are going to do,” the 2020 Democratic Presidential candidate who is running at the bottom of the field said. “Americans who own AR-15s, AK-47s, will have to sell them to the government. We’re not going to allow them to stay on our streets, to show up in our communities, to be used against us in our synagogues, our churches, our mosques, our Walmarts, our public places.”

“All countries have video games. All countries struggle with mental health. All countries deal with hatred. But only America has more guns than human beings — 390 million firearms in a country of 329 million people — which kill nearly 40,000 people every year. That’s why, as president, I would institute a mandatory buyback of every assault weapon in America.’

WIBC host Guy Relford, The Gun Guy joined Hammer and Nigel Wednesday afternoon to offer his perspective on Beto O’Rourke’s recent comments.

“My first thought when I heard that was, ‘Are you going to be the first one in the stack at the door, Beto? Are you the one coming through my door first?’” joked Relford, who expressed disgust at O’Rourke’s cavalier attitude towards the Second Amendment. “Are we really talking about a door-to-door gun confiscation?” asked Relford. “Because that would not go well.”

Relford argued that a move to ban semi-automatic rifles is the first step towards a ban on all firearms – not just so-called “assault rifles.” According to Guy, nearly every single gun control advocacy group is openly admitting their intentions to progressively clamp down on Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

“They’re going to talk about all semi-automatic firearms – including pistols,” explained Relford, “and then they’re going to talk about all firearms. I do not have to put on my tinfoil hat to claim that because it’s part of their stated public policy.”
