LEBANON, Ind.  — A Lebanon man has pleaded guilty to charges related to the March 2018 shooting death of Boone Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Pickett.

John Ball pleaded guilty Friday to providing a firearm to an ineligible person and to six drug charges. 

He told a judge he gave Anthony Baumgardt the gun used to kill Deputy Pickett.

Ball was initially charged with murder. The murder charge was dropped as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.

He is set to be sentenced on Dec. 11

Anthony Baumgardt, of Lebanon, pleaded guilty to Pickett’s murder. He was sentenced in May to life without parole.
