INDIANAPOLIS — A man is dead after a shooting near Edgemont Avenue early Saturday morning. Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were sent to 700 Edgemont Avenue in response to a caller claiming shots had been fired in the area. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man suffering from gunshot wounds. The Indiana Emergency Medical Services pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives are currently searching for witnesses, and the Marion County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the victim once the family has been notified.
