The Indiana Pacers kick off their season opener tonight at the Fieldhouse against the Detroit Pistons.

Pacers Overtime Host Eddie White Joined the Hammer and Nigel Show Wednesday afternoon to preview tonight’s game… and to give hell to Nigel for being absent from work AGAIN!

“There is a lot of excitement about tonight’s game,” White told Hammer and Rob Kendall. “Anybody who was paying attention in the pre-season got a taste of what can happen as [the Pacers] get comfortable with each other.”

The Pacers are starting the season off tonight without their best player, Victor Oladipo, who remains sidelined with a knee injury.

“I think we’re all counting the days until that guy from Bloomington can return to the court, which probably won’t be until January or February,” said White. “But we can hold the fort until he gets here.”

White continued: “But this is an extremely strong team. The atmosphere in the locker room is great, there’s a lot of camaraderie, and I think so much of that is about character. Get guys in here who like each other and are likable guys. There are no primadonnas, no knuckleheads, and it’s a locker room that believes in itself, enjoys itself, and hopefully, that translates to a lot of playoff wins.”

White breaks down the full preview of tonight’s game in the clip below.
