INDIANAPOLIS — Detectives had a busy evening Tuesday investigating two separate incidents on the north side.

Indianapolis Metro Police officers were first called at around 9:30 to a duplex along Boulevard Place northwest of West 30th Street and North Capitol Avenue.

Maj. Harold Turner with IMPD said people inside the duplex were hurt when shots were fired into the home from an alleyway.

“There were three adults,” said Maj. Turner. “I can’t confirm their sex but there were three adults taken to area hospitals in stable condition.”

Turner said at least two of the three people suffered gunshot wounds while the third was injured by either shattered glass or some other type of debris from the mele. He said, “quite a few shots” were fired from the alleyway.

Not 15 minutes later, a report of a man having been murdered on the northeast side came across police scanners. Turner said officers got to the A/62 Apartments on along Bordeaux Court near East 62nd and Allisonville Road.

“Officers went inside an apartment to find an adult male in his 40’s suffering from a ‘trauma about the body’,” Maj. Turner said.

The initial call had been that the man was stabbed to death, but Turner said detectives are not able to confirm yet if that was, in fact, the cause of death.

Turner added that they don’t have many witnesses and they also don’t have any leads on a suspect.
