Gordon Sondland, a U.S. ambassador appointed by President Donald Trump, asserted in testimony Wednesday that Trump told him in an early September phone call that he wanted nothing – “no quid-pro-quo” – from Ukraine in exchange for the release of $400 million in military aid.
Wednesday afternoon, the President emerged from the White House with a copy of the ambassador’s testimony and proceeded to read the transcript to reporters.
