VERNON, Ind. — An elderly woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning that involved a school bus. 

Indiana State Police say around 6:30 a.m., a Jennings County school bus crashed into a truck at the intersection of State Road 3 and State Road 7 near Vernon.

The driver of the school bus, Robert Ringer, 72, of North Vernon, was not injured. However, a bus aid with the Jennings County School Corporation, 74-year-old Mary Boyd, also of North Vernon, was killed in the crash.

There were no students on the bus at the time of the crash. 

The driver of the truck, Harry Palmer, and a passenger, Steven Graham, were taken to St. Vincent-Jennings Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

State police are still investigating the crash.
