INDIANAPOLIS — Metro police have arrested a suspect they say robbed several cell phone stores in Indianapolis.

Alonzo Sargent was arrested on Thursday. He’s accused of robbing several Metro PCS stores throughout the Indy metro. According to IMPD, detectives with the Covert Robbery Unit were looking into the robberies and on Nov. 25 they found a vehicle likely used to commit the robberies.

They eventually led investigators to Sargent.

Detectives tracked Sargent down and tried to pull him over Thursday, but he took off on foot pulled out a gun and ran into an apartment building. Police set up a perimeter around the building and arrested Sargent not long afterward.

Court documents say Sargent was charged Thursday with carrying a handgun without a license, two counts of resisting law enforcement and two counts of armed robbery.
