GREENFIELD, Ind.– Hancock County Schools are giving tickets out to students caught vaping. School officials hope that by ticketing students, it will combat the ongoing problem among teenagers.

The CDC says more than 1 in 4 high school students have used an e-cigarette in 2019.

Both Greenfield-Central High School and Eastern Hancock High School and Middle School are allowing their school resource officers to issue tickets for underage vaping.

The price students pay? $130.

This year, so far, officers say they have issued at least 10 tickets at each campus.
