INDIANAPOLIS- A man has been arrested for a hit-and-run from September.

Timothy Poole, 30, faces charges for a felony hit-and-run that killed a young boy. The crash happened on September 11th, 2019.

A witness told police they saw a black car driving recklessly through the neighborhood. The car then hit 14-year-old Luis Daniel Patiño Ortego, who was riding a mini-motorcycle on West Coil Street. The car stopped and the driver got out and ran away.

Luis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car was later found parked in the street with the engine on and damage on the passenger’s side. Police say the car belonged to a friend of Poole. The friend told police Poole said he borrowed the car and told her he had “gotten in a wreck and hit a boy.”

Police arrested Poole Friday, Dec. 13. He’s scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
