MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie man fired a shotgun at the car his wife and her boyfriend were in.

The man inside the car said that he was picking up his girlfriend at a home on East Brookway Drive around midnight on Wednesday. She told him that her “soon-to-be-ex-husband,” Willis Eugene Clark Jr., was in the house.

The man told police that he heard a door close and a gunshot, and then saw Clark aiming a shotgun at his car. Two gunshots went through the windshield, and he said they ducked down inside the car as he backed out of the driveway and more gunshots were heard.

The car began smoking and stopped running, and he said Clark threw his gun down and tried to grab him.

Police found a shotgun, with snow still on it, in the closet of the home, and the car had damage to its windshield, hood, and grill.

Clark was arrested and accused of criminal recklessness while armed with a deadly weapon and pointing a firearm, said the Muncie Star Press.

He’s in the Delaware County jail under a $10,000 bond.

Police also said there were four children sleeping in the home at the time of the shooting.
