TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A man and his dog were separated for nearly 5 months, but soon Wade Glahn and Nela will be reunited.

Glahn was stationed with the United States Air Force in Hawaii when he adopted Nela. They then moved to Illinois.

He told WTWO that after being transferred to Virginia Beach he decided to leave Nela with a friend. While he was gone she was given to the Terre Haute Humane Society.

Glahn saw a post about Nela on the humane society’s website and reached out.

Sarah Valentine, the general manager at the humane society, and Glahn worked it out so they could meet and Glahn could get Nela back.

Thursday, Nela and Glahn will be reunited in West Virginia.
