UPDATE: The woman who died has been identified as 54-year-old Cindy Evans.
INDIANAPOLIS — An IndyGo bus and a car collided at the intersection of East Michigan and North Davidson streets at about 3 p.m. Wednesday. The woman who was driving the car was killed.
The young child who police she was her passenger was taken to the hospital, where police said the child was stable.
A passenger on the bus was also injured, and was taken to the hospital.
Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
“IndyGo will continue to work with IMPD and follow internal protocol as this accident is investigated. Our condolences are with the families of those involved and we encourage all drivers to be attentive while on the road,” said Lesley Gordon, director of public affairs and partnerships, Indianapolis Public Transportation Corp.
