MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie man spent his New Year’s Day in jail after he repeatedly called 911 about his garden hose being stolen.
Lendol Earl Reed was arrested on Wednesday night for misuse of the 911 system, harassment and disorderly conduct said the Muncie Star Press.
Police say Reed called repeatedly because he was unhappy that the person who took his garden hose was not immediately arrested.
They say he began cursing at officers on the scene and demanded a supervisor contact him.
He continued to call 911, eight times in two hours, to express how upset he was, screaming at dispatchers. Police say he was warned before the last call that more would get him arrested.
Reed was released from jail earlier today.
