GREENTOWN, Ind.— Two people were found shot to death Monday night inside of a parked car in front of Casey’s General Store in Greentown.
Police say they were called to Casey’s to check on some people and make sure they were okay. When they got there, they found a man and woman who had been shot to death in the car.
The Greentown Police Department and Howard County Sheriff’s Office were unable to confirm the relationship between the gunshot victims. They did, however, indicate, that the man and woman were from Greentown.
Howard County deputies say their preliminary investigation shows that the incident was isolated to the car, but they cannot yet confirm that.
“If you’re thinking about it, when you are driving inside your car, how quiet the outside is inside? Well, that works the other way around too,” said Captain Jordan Buckley, a spokesperson for the Howard County Sheriff’s Office.
Several people who work nearby all say they didn’t hear anything suspicious, like gunshots.
The Casey’s General Store is located at U.S. 35 and State Road 231. It’s right in the heart of Greentown.
“Evil will show its face anywhere,” Buckley said. “It just happened to be here tonight.”
