STATEWIDE–Much of the state will see snow Friday night that is supposed to continue through most of the day Saturday.

National Weather Service of Indianapolis Meteorologist Andrew White says it will start off as a mixture of rain and snow.

“That will continue tonight (Friday) and into tomorrow morning (Saturday) before we kind of switch over to mostly snow during the morning hours,” White says. “The transition of snow is expected probably after midnight.”

White expects up to an inch for snow for the Indianapolis-area by the time it’s all over. It’s a different story for northern Indiana.

“Snow amounts look like they’ll be a little bit higher up north with some higher confidence that they’ll be some higher accumulations. Still around an inch, but some higher amounts approaching two inches could be possible. Down south, we’re not really expecting very much,” White says.

By Sunday, all of the snow should be gone.

“We’re expecting all of this to wrap up by Sunday. During the day Sunday, we’ll still be cloudy for much of the day, though,” White says.

He also expects temperatures to be in the low to mid-30s for much of the state Saturday and Sunday. White advises that you keep an eye on the forecast because it can always change.
