NEW YORK — Several more witnesses are expected to take the stand this week in the Harvey Weinstein sex crimes trial in Lower Manhattan.

Two women who accuse Weinstein of wrongdoing are expected to detail their encounters with the once-powerful Hollywood producer. Then, one of the major accusers in the case who claims Weinstein raped her in a hotel will take the stand.

She is one of two women whose allegations are connected to the sex crimes charges Weinstein faces in New York.

Yesterday, Weinstein’s former production assistant Mimi Haleyi teared up as she talked about Weinstein’s alleged sexual assault on her in Weinstein’s Manhattan apartment.

Weinstein’s attorneys pointed to a friendly e-mail Haleyi sent to Weinstein a couple of years after the encounter. Weinstein argues all sexual encounters were consensual.
