(Seminole County Sherriff Office)

In a day and age when children are increasingly isolating themselves from the outside world as they retreat to the world of their smartphones, it warms the heart to hear a story about a mother and son investing in their relationship and emotional bond by committing an armed robbery together.

This Week’s Featured Felon: Amanda Meader, a Florida mother who acted as the getaway driver in her 15-year-old son’s armed robbery on Halloween night this past year.

According to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, Meader drove her teenage son and two of his friends to a Circle K gas station, where her son entered with a mask on his face and a gun in hand. While the son demanded money from the cashier, Meador backed the family minivan up to the store in order to allow for a quicker getaway.

The Meader crime family might’ve gotten away with the robbery too, but her son, for some reason, is a dumb ass. He left a note behind at the scene of the crime, which police later tested for fingerprints. Once they knew the identity of one of the suspects, authorities took a leisurely drive to the Meadors’ home in Winter Park, Florida. There they found the clothes and mask the son was wearing during the robbery due to the fact that numbnuts forgot to destroy and get rid of it.

Mom Meador has been charged with robbery with a firearm and neglect of a child because of her active participation in the robbery.

We at the Hammer and Nigel program call foul. To charge Miss Meadow with neglect of a child is an egregious miscarriage of justice and probably unconstitutional.

Meador was there for her child more than most parents. She waited patiently in the minivan, engine running, and AC blowing ice cold to enhance the kids’ comfort as they fled the scene of the familial felony.

Furthermore, Meader ensured that all passengers in the vehicle were fully secured by lap and shoulder belts before squealing out of the parking lot at a high rate of speed and blatantly violating a half dozen traffic laws on the way home.

My God, she even made the kids a balanced meal and played three-and-a-half hours worth of UNO with them before bedtime. This woman’s a single mom! What more do you want?
