TIPTON COUNTY, Ind.—A Tipton County deputy was injured in a crash where drunk driving is suspected.
The crash happened just before 4 am Sunday. Police say a deputy was going west on State Road 28 when another driver disregarded a stop sign and hit the deputy.
The deputy, sergeant Dylan Vetor, came away with minor injuries. He was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation. Vetor has since been treated and released.
There were two people in the other vehicle. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says both of them have been uncooperative with law enforcement and appeared to be intoxicated.
“Both individuals denied being the driver of the vehicle. Search warrants were obtained for blood draws of both occupants,” the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said in a Sunday news release.
The deputy’s vehicle was towed for additional investigation.
