INDIANAPOLIS–A police chase ended with a crash, four people arrested, and a SWAT officer injured Tuesday afternoon on the north side of Indianapolis.
IMPD says they first heard about shots being fired in the 2900 block of Riverside Drive East at around 2:45. When they got there, they say they found a vehicle that was stolen in an armed carjacking earlier that day.
That led to the cops chasing their suspect and then a crash happened at E. 30th Street and E. Fall Creek Parkway N. Drive. That’s about three miles east of where the shots fired call came in.
IMPD believes the suspect car crashed into a SWAT vehicle as it was trying to turn and that caused The SWAT vehicle to end up on its side. The suspect’s car crashed into a pole.
The driver and the passenger got out and tried to run away, but IMPD says they found both of those men and arrested them. Two women in the car and they were also taken into custody.
The SWAT officer was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A gun was found at the scene too and it was confiscated by police.
