LAWRENCE, IND —  As many as 10,000 Hoosiers were without power Tuesday morning due to a transformer issue. The outage affects areas including Lawrence, McCordsville, and south of the Geist Reservoir.

“Some primary lines are down right now,” said Mallory Duncan, AES Director of Communications. “Luckily, we had work already underway in the area so crews could respond quickly. We’re trying to transfer power to different circuits.”

Delays are expected on I-465, East 56th Street, Pendleton Pike, Allisonville Road, and Geist Road. AES Indiana says power should be restored by 10 a.m. at the latest.
