Indiana ends 80-year wait, beats Ohio State for Big Ten title

Tony Katz:

A seven-member committee to investigate sexual harassment in the Hogsett administration.

This is what the city County Council voted for. 22 for, 1 against one abstention. Why there would be somebody against it? Was that Ron Gibson? Said “no, we don’t. We don’t need an investigation. We don’t need to look into the mayor. I’m sure everything he’s doing is perfect,” though I don’t know if the counselor said that. I do know he voted no. Joe Hogsett hires Thomas Carl Cook, his chief of staff, deputy mayor. He’s involved in multiple allegations of sexual impropriety, sexual harassment. Allegedly there was investigation done in 2017, but no one has seen proof of this.

The women involved are asking for the proof of this investigation and so far, nothing forthcoming from Joe Hogsett. Then this guy, Thomas Carl Cook, gets a job at Bose Law firm, and no one can confirm whether or not Joe Hogsett recommended him. And were they aware of the allegations of sexual impropriety from these three women? And there are allegations of more. But until they come forward, I what? What am I gonna do with an allegation? Well, I mean an unfounded allegation. The people at Mirror Indy:

the people at the Indy Star have talked to the women who have come forward and nobody is really contesting to any level their story.

Only apologies about how Hogsett should have done more. Apologies are meaningless. What kind of culture do you have over there? What is it that you’re actually creating? And then after knowing everything about this guy, you bring him back for the election campaign. That’s very odd. Just not as odd as his appearance over the weekend at an event where he sounded like he was under the influence of something.

Was he drinking? Were there drugs elicited or or prescribed or is there a mental issue? I don’t know. But Joe Hogsett’s not OK. And I believe that this administration is covering for him, and they shouldn’t. Look at what’s happening, look at the culture he’s created, and now take a look at the man. He’s not alright. So, this committee is only looking at the sexual impropriety. I don’t have a problem with the committee. I have a problem with “Don’t we already have enough? Haven’t we seen enough? Aren’t there enough issues? Aren’t there enough problems? Shouldn’t we be making moves right now? About this Mayor?” He’s already removed the trust that could possibly exist between a city and private developers. You would trust a deal with Joe Hogsett after what he did to the Keystone Group. And by the way, what mental state was he in when he was having the conversations with Major League Soccer? Because I don’t think that guy based on who we saw this weekend, is capable of signing his name on the dotted line and anybody trusting it. I’m telling you; I can’t diagnose him. I’m saying there’s an issue. I have eyes, this is what it tells me. So let this investigation happen, but really, it’s about what’s going to happen after you find what the investigation brings. That’s what matters. What will we see in terms of action after the investigation?
