The season starts on Sunday for the Indianapolis Colts. After a dreadful first two weeks of the season the Colts now sit at ultimate perfect mediocrity: 1-1-1. That’s as fresh of a start as one could ever ask for.

Currently, the Colts sit in 2nd place in the AFC South. That’s just behind those pesky Jacksonville Jaguars and just in-front of the Tennessee Titans. Following that incredible win against Kansas City the Colts have an opportunity to retake control of their own destiny with a win on Sunday against the Titans.

A victory adds cushion between them and the Titans, and also allows Indy to continue to keep pace with the Jags. A loss…and the Colts are back at the bottom of the division race with the Houston Texans.

This is a new Colts team though, right? They showed the toughness and determination against KC that many pundits expected from them going into the season. Now it’s just a matter of putting all together for a complete game performance.

The last time we had conversations like this was when the Colts went into Jacksonville after a solid 2nd half performance that allowed them to tie with Houston. The follow-up result was an embarrassing shutout to Jacksonville that made us questions what this team was capable of.

So can things be different this time around or are we on pace for an up and down roller coaster season?

On Wednesday afternoon The Dan Dakich Show turned to the great Joe Reitz of the Colts Radio Network to answer that question for us.

Joe also talked to us about:

  • strides the Colts made against Kansas City that are sustainable
  • why the breakdowns happened along the offensive line vs the Chiefs
  • what impressed him the most in the team’s comeback victory
  • what weaknesses are still present for Indy and how they can be fixed
