PORTER COUNTY, Ind. — Friday, Indiana State Police were led on a chase and caught the man after tasing him.

The started on I-94 when an ISP officer saw a speeding Chevrolet Camaro weave in and out of traffic. The trooper tried to stop the driver, but the man fled. He drove on the shoulder of the interstate to escape, but crashed into a guardrail and hit another car.

The trooper got out to give first aid to those in the crash, but the driver of the Camaro kept going, dragging the rear bumper as he sped off. The people in the crash had only non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was seen getting off the interstate and into Gary. An ISP officer and local police found the car in an alley near 11th street, and saw the driver getting out his car. That man, Marcellous Woods Jr, fled on foot from the police.

The chase continued through alleys and yards in Gary where the ISP trooper gave a warning before pulling out his taser and stopping the suspect.

After being examined by medics, Woods was arrested for Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Resisting Law Enforcement, Leaving the Scene of an Injury Crash, Operating a Vehicle Without Ever Receiving a License, and Reckless Driving.
