INDIANAPOLIS--Attempted murder is one charge against one of the men accused of holding cops off from inside a business on Massachusetts Ave. at 34th and Arlington, in Indianapolis. Police say they were shot at when approaching that business to serve a search warrant.
“As officers with the IMPD SWAT team were approaching the building, shots were fired from inside the building,” said Lt. Shane Foley, with the Indianapolis Metro Police Dept/
They now say the person shooting was Brayn De La Torre, 29. He has been arrested on a preliminary attempted murder charge.
A woman and two other men were also detained after the incident, which led to a standoff. Police were there to serve a search warrant related to a shooting from the day before. Jose Lopez, 28, was arrested on an unrelated warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Inside the building they found fentanyl, diesel and several other chemicals that for a while, had police thinking there could have been a meth lab.
