INDIANAPOLIS — A pop-up health event in Indianapolis Wednesday will be shining a light on the need for increased diversity in clinical trials.

The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ivy Tech Community College.  It will address diversity and encourage people to prioritize their health.

WISH TV reports that “Journey to Better Health, AWARE for All – Indianapolis” will have more than 20 booths, as well as guest speakers.  There, you can learn more about the importance of diverse clinical trials and get various vaccinations, including those for the flu, pneumonia, and HPV.  There will also be STD testing available.

It is being organized by a Boston-based nonprofit that strives to increase the diversity of participants in clinical trials.  By increasing diversity, companies will be able to more accurately understand how their products affect the population as a whole.

You can register for the free event on-site, at the Culinary and Conference Center.  Learn more at ciscrp.org.
