FISHERS, Ind.--The Indy Fuel will be moving to Fishers if the planned hockey arena and event center announced Wednesday is built. The city and developers plan a new entertainment district that includes an 8,500 seat venue for the team, which currently plays at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Farmer’s Coliseum.

The city is spending $1.1 billion in developments, including the $550 million for the entertainment district, which will be located east of I-69, between 106th and 116th streets.

The Fuel team owner announced that the change is expected to happen in the 2024-25 season.

“I’m thrilled to bring the fun and excitement of Indy Fuel hockey and its fan base to Fishers,” said Jim Hallett, team owner and chairman of Hallett Sports & Entertainment. “We are beyond excited to not only bring the Fuel to Fishers but also have Hallett Sports & Entertainment manage the new facility for the community.”
