LAFAYETTE — Exploration Acres is getting ready to open for the season.

The agritourism business offers family-friendly activities including a corn maze, hay rides, and more.  They also have a variety of food and drinks, as well as a pumpkin patch.

While the dry summer weather made it difficult for Exploration Acres to grow some of the attractions, President Tim Fitzgerald says the corn maze is now ready to go.  However, he says the pumpkin patch will need a bit more time before it is at its best.

This year, the theme of the 23-acre maze is “zombies.”  You can trek the 10 miles of paths during the day or evening from September 16th to October 30th.

Right now, the corn maze is nominated for Best Corn Maze in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice awards.  If you’d like to vote for Exploration Acres, you can do so every day until voting closes.  Head here to vote.
