NEW ALBANY, Ind. — A man from New Albany is headed to federal prison for trafficking drugs and illegal guns.

Court documents say Cornelio Moran-Miranda, 39, pled guilty to possession with intent to distribute meth and possession of an illegal firearm. On June 1st of last year, New Albany police conducted a search of Moran-Miranda’s house.

There they found over seven pounds of cocaine, nearly three pounds of meth, about 2 ounces of heroin, digital scales, and over 20,000-dollars in cash. In his garage, Moran-Miranda had two rifles, an UZI-style pistol, and a Ruger pistol with it’s serial number destroyed.

That was more than enough for police to arrest Moran-Miranda. He faces 10 years in federal prison, and 5 years of supervised release afterwards.
