BOONE COUNTY, Ind. — One good person alerting police was all it took to save Bridgette Cesnik and two juveniles from being kidnapped.

“A good samaritan advising that they had been notified by one of the people that was taken that they been kidnapped and they needed help.” says Boone County Deputy Wesley Garst.

Friday morning at 6:20, Boone County Communications got that call, saying that the three kidnapping victims needed help at a rest stop on I-65.

Bidgette and the two juveniles were taken from Lawrence, where Lawrence PD was already alerted and searching for Bridgette. In a combined effort Boone and Lawrence Authorities converged on the rest stop.

“When deputies got up there they were able to detain the subject, Jacob, and make sure Bridgette and the two juveniles were okay…”, Garst said.

The kidnapper, Jacob Gibson, was taken to the Marion County Jail by Lawrence PD.

At the end of the day, Garst wants to remind everybody, “It’s good to know that there are good people out there willing to act quickly and help someone else in need…We’re always saying without your assistance we can’t do our jobs as well as we do. So we thank the community for staying vigilant and the good samaritan for acting quickly.”
