JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. — Two teens have been arrested for a shooting Sunday night.

The victim, 38-year-old Jerry Jones, is in IU Methodist Hospital in critical condition after that shooting.

Police were called to the incident at 8:55p.m. where they found Jones with a gunshot wound at the 6700 block of South 800W, Morgantown, Indiana. The police were able to get a search warrant to investigate one of the suspects, 19-year-old Miranda D. Lawson, at her home in Morgantown. Lawson was arrested for false informing.

Then they found a second suspect, another teenager Nicholas R. Saunders (19), this time in Jennings County. Information revealed to the police indicated that Saunders was the suspected shooter.

They searched his home outside of Elizabethtown and arrested Saunders on a felony of Aggravated Battery in connection to the shooting, also for resisting law enforcement and criminal mischief to a Johnson County Sheriff’s vehicle.
