Indianapolis – For the 2nd straight year, kicker Rodrigo “Hot Rod” Blankenship is in a position battle to keep his job. After an up and down first two years, Blankenship’s leg strength has been an issue for the Colts going only 1/4 from 50+ yards in his career.

 

The challenger this year? 2nd year UDFA Jake Verity. Verity spent his rookie season learning under the best kicker in the NFL, Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens. Verity impressed Tucker so much in training camp last year, he gave him his stamp of approval.

 

The Colts have quietly have had one of the worst kicking games in the since 2019, the 6th worst in the NFL hitting only 81% of FG attempts.
